The HX PowerSelect XTension enables you to select uncontiguous text simultaneously so that you can change the format of whole selection with single operation using a menu or a keyboard command. A rectangular selection is also available.
Operating Environment
The HX PowerSelect XTension program can be used with QuarkXPress version 3.2 or higher.
Installing and Launching HX PowerSelect XTension Program
To install and launch the HX PowerSelect XTension program, drag the HX PowerSelect XTension program icon from the HX PowerSelect XTension program disk folder to the QuarkXPress program folder (to the XTensions folder if you use QuarkXPress 3.3 or higher), and then double click the QuarkXPress program icon. The HX PowerSelect XTension program will start execution and ask you to run as a demo version or register.
Using HX PowerSelect XTension Demo Program
The demo program is to provide you with an opportunity to try the HX PowerSelect XTension program. You can use the program by taking steps as follow:
1) To open the PowerSelect palette, select Show PowerSelect Palette command from the View menu.
2) To enable multiple selection, select Set Multiple Selection in the submenu of the PowerSelect command from the Utility menu or press its keyboard equivalent, or click the icon on the PowerSelect palette. The icon on the palette will be reversed.
3) Repeat selecting text. You can continue selecting text wuthout losing previous selections.
4) You can also select a rectangular block of text by click and drag with holding down the Shift, Control, and Option key together.
5) When you select a command from the menu or palettes or enter a keyboard command to reformat the selected text, it will apply to whole selection.
6) To reset multiple selection mode, select Reset Multiple Selection in the submenu of the PowerSelect command from the Utility menu or press its keyboard equivalent, or click the icon on the PowerSelect palette. The icon on the palette will resume normal. When you click at any position, all highlights will disappear releasing multiple selections.
7) You can change the keyboard equivalent to set or reset multiple selection mode by selecting Change Key in the submenu of the PowerSelect command from the Utility menu.
Limitations of the Demo Program
Please be aware that the demo program has following limitations:
1) The test period will expire within a few weeks after you install the demo program.
2) You can try all functions of HX PowerSelect program, but cannot save the document.
